The beach cleanup activity

Company volunteers from Mizuno’s Lifestyle Sales Division got together on September 14th to participate in a beach cleanup volunteering activity held in Yuigahama Beach in Kamakura City, Kanagawa prefecture.Japan

There were sixteen participants on the day. They contributed to the beautification of the beach by collecting 5.2 kilograms of trash, including plastics.

This activity stemmed from a workshop started by a Lifestyle Sales Division employee, to think about what they can do, both as individuals and as Mizuno employees, for the realization of a sustainable society.
Many ideas were shared, such as attending a lecture on environmental conservation or participating in an environment related event, but they decided to experience environmental issues firsthand by participating in this beach cleanup.

From the voice of a participant:
“There was far more trash on Yuigahama Beach than we imagined. As employees of a sporting goods manufacturer focusing on environmental conservation, we must consider what is most effective and proactively start from wherever we can.”

Mizuno aims to pass on an abundant global environment to the next generation, where anyone can enjoy playing sports anywhere and anytime. Mizuno supports employees’ spontaneous ideas and proactive endeavors for the realization of a sustainable society.
