温室効果ガス排出削減目標がSBTi認定を取得

Greenhouse gas emission reduction targets receive SBTi certification

At Mizuno, we are aiming for “Net Zero by 2050” to realize a sustainable society.

We have recently obtained certification from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)*1 for our greenhouse gas reduction targets set to preserve the global environment.

*1 An international initiative jointly established in 2015 by four organizations: CDP, UN Global Compact, WRI (World Resources Institute), and WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature)

<SBTi-Certified Greenhouse Gas Reduction Targets>
For Scope 1 (Mizuno’s direct emissions) and Scope 2 (Mizuno’s indirect emissions), reduce emissions by 50.4% by 2030 compared to 2018 (base year)
For Scope 3 (others’ indirect emissions) Category 1 (purchased products and services) and Category 12 (end-of-life treatment of sold products), reduce emissions by 58.1% per billion yen of value added by 2030 compared to 2018 (base year).

While awareness of environmental conservation has been increasing in recent years, there have been cases of inadequately substantiated actions, as evidenced by the term “greenwashing.” We have confirmed that our target setting up to 2030 is scientifically based and certified, ensuring that we are progressing towards reliable goals.

Moving forward, we will first accelerate our efforts towards achieving the 2030 targets through activities such as energy conservation, utilization of renewable energy, innovation in product manufacturing processes, waste reduction, and promotion of recycling. Furthermore, we aim to achieve net zero by 2050.

Our ultimate goal is to pass on to the next generation a global environment where anyone can enjoy sports at any time.
