“Les Plie Squat”: Using Moquette from Osaka Metro Seats

At Mizuno, we have been working on initiatives to transform leftover leather unsuitable for gloves and noncompliant wood materials for bats into new products in our baseball and softball business.

The “Osaka Metro^*¹ × Mizuno Les Plie Squat” project was first realized through a shared vision with Osaka Metro Create, which plans and develops upcycled products using materials from decommissioned trains as part of their “Scrapped Train Reconditioning Project.”

This Osaka Metro limited edition model of the “Les Plie Squat,” which supports squat exercises while seated, uses moquette fabric from Osaka Metro train seats for its seat cover. It's a product that allows for easy at-home training while feeling the atmosphere of Osaka Metro trains.
The seat cover is available in both patterned and non-patterned versions.

We have been engaged in environmental conservation activities since 1991, and aim to achieve carbon neutrality in 2050. In addition to the use of renewable energy and innovation in product manufacturing processes, we are actively working to reduce waste and promotes recycling.
