"From Bat to Bag: A One-of-a-Kind Recycled Bag That Weaves Together Players’ Hopes"
Mizuno has recycled wooden bats used by professional baseball players to create its Bat-Reborn Denim Bags.
We collected bats that were previously discarded—those made from non-standard materials and broken wooden bats once used by professional players—then crushed and processed them into fabric. Using this material, we created a one-of-a-kind sustainable bag that carries the players’ hopes, their achievements, and history, embodying the wish to fight together.
For the lining, Mizuno has adopted DopeDyed, a solution-dyed material used for the first time in its bags. By coloring the resin at the stage before it becomes yarn and then weaving the fabric from that yarn, this process reduces water usage compared to conventional dyeing methods, while also minimizing chemical use and CO2 emissions—making it an environmentally friendly material.
Since the 1990s, Mizuno has been committed to environmental conservation for more than 30 years, with the goal of achieving carbon neutrality across its business operations by 2050. Looking ahead, Mizuno will continue to develop environmentally conscious products while also creating offerings that embody the spirit of its contracted athletes, carrying their passion and legacy forward to future generations.
