Reducing Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions by Updating Baseball Glove Packaging
To further reduce its environmental impact, Mizuno has updated the outer packaging boxes used for its baseball gloves.
The packaging design was changed from a black-coated box with gold lettering to a simpler design with no coating and single-color text. This reduced the outer box weight from 327 g to 210 g (a reduction of 117 g, or approximately 35%).
* Based on Mizuno estimates.
With this specification change, we expect annual greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to decrease by approximately 3.3 t (about 35%) compared with the previous outer box.
Mizuno has been advancing environmental conservation initiatives for more than 30 years, since the 1990s, and aims to achieve carbon neutrality across its business activities by 2050. By proactively adopting lower-impact materials and specifications for both products and packaging, Mizuno will continue to help protect the global environment for future generations.
