Not Only Equipment, But Opportunities to Play: Supporting the Growth of Pickleball
In recent years, pickleball has gained popularity as a sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and experience levels. Combining elements of tennis, table tennis, and badminton, pickleball is a racket sport known for its compact court size and simple rules, making it accessible to beginners.
In addition to offering equipment, Mizuno is working to create opportunities for people to experience and enjoy sports by providing places and occasions to play, encouraging participation across generations.
Creating More Opportunities to Play Pickleball
Ahead of launching pickleball equipment in Japan, Mizuno has utilized sports facilities it manages across the country since 2024 to offer a variety of programs, including trial sessions, skill-level-based clinics, and tournaments. As of June 2026, pickleball can be played at 42 facilities nationwide.
In October 2025, Mizuno also entered into a Promotion Partner Agreement with the Japan Pickleball Association. By creating opportunities for anyone to participate casually, Mizuno aims to increase awareness of pickleball in Japan and help grow the number of people playing the sport.
