We considered how to reduce the environmental impact as much as possible when developing a new down jacket for our Lifestyle category of products. At that time, we learned that Maruhachi Mawata Co., Ltd., who produces bedding and other items, recycle the down from their products. This led us to take up the idea in our new product.
Specifically, we use recycled down, which Maruhachi Mawata has taken from futons and other sources and cleaned, for more than 80% of the padding of the new down jackets. The quality control process for materials that Maruhachi Mawata has built up over many years has led to a rebirth of high quality down materials.
Through this collaboration, we intend to reduce CO2 emission produced from burning unwanted futons, reduce the environmental impact and contribute to the creation of a recycling-based society.
