Reason for Importance
For Mizuno to be persistent in bringing “A-mon (high-quality products)” for the world, innovation is essential. To this end, we promote human capital management to provide stakeholders around the world with one-of-a-kind value. Our approach to human capital management regards employees not merely as “human resources” but as “human capital,” positioning them as essential elements in generating value. Based on this perspective, Mizuno seeks to build relationships that transcend boundaries with all stakeholders while valuing each employee as an individual and focusing on their autonomy and growth.
Beyond the individual level, organization-wide engagement created through interactions among individuals is especially important. We implement initiatives to invigorate our organization so that each employee can find fulfillment in their work and create value.

Mizuno's Risks and Opportunities
The decline in the labor force is making it increasingly difficult each year to secure highly capable talent. Competition in the labor market is particularly intense for talent with specialized knowledge and practical expertise in areas such as AI and data science. Technological innovation for greater efficiency and automation is advancing at a remarkable pace, and failure to invest appropriately in talent could reduce productivity and, in turn, weaken business performance and competitiveness. By recruiting talent with diverse perspectives and creating a work environment that supports diverse ways of working and gives employees a sense of fulfillment, we will foster innovation.
Risks
- Decline in the labor population
- Delayed response to technological innovation and changes in the business environment
Opportunities
- Fostering innovation and driving productivity improvement by enabling diverse talent to thrive
- Strengthening organizational competitiveness by optimizing the talent portfolio
Approach to Priority Issues
By appropriately investing in and managing human capital, we create value that cannot be replicated, thereby enhancing corporate value and increasing profits. This creates a virtuous cycle in business management and drives sustainable growth.
We are advancing three key initiatives to foster individual autonomy and growth.
- Securing Talent: By recruiting talent to support sustainable growth, we will strengthen our talent base in each field.
- Supporting Individual Autonomy: We provide measures that foster self-determination and independence, helping employees build their own career paths.
- Developing and Leveraging Individual Talent: We fully leverage each employee’s capabilities and expertise while providing ongoing education and opportunities for growth.
As part of our organizational revitalization initiatives, we also conduct an employee engagement survey covering all employees across our operations worldwide.
We aim to sustainably enhance corporate value by further accelerating these strategies.

Moving Forward
In the current era, often described as VUCA, rapid change and the growing difficulty of predicting what lies ahead are making it increasingly challenging to differentiate through products and services. In such an environment, the role of “people” is becoming increasingly important if Mizuno is to achieve a competitive advantage.
We will continue to develop frameworks and systems and foster an organizational culture, all of which can contribute to enhancing corporate value. The growth of each employee is essential to Mizuno’s transformation and growth. We will further enhance our work environment so that all employees can realize their full potential and contribute to Mizuno’s growth.
